The latest in new music from Lykke Li, Eli Smart, NOT THE MAIN CHARACTERS, EFÉ & more on this week’s 1883 playlist.

On rotation this week is the forward-thinking pop artist Lykke Li. as she has shared the heartfelt new track No Hotel. It’s taken from Li’s forthcoming project EYEYE. A project that has been dubbed as an “immersive audiovisual album” which drops May 20. Indie newcomer Eli Smart continues to make waves thanks to his collection of breezy and fun tracks. Charli XCX has just released potentially her best album yet with her fifth studio LP, CRASH. Make sure you listen to Lightning. It’s an upbeat slice of pop goodness with electronic nuances.

Elsewhere, LA-based trio NOT THE MAIN CHARACTERS have shared a new musical offering in the form of the infectious single, Lava. The single is effortlessly cool thanks to its hyper pop soundscape and simple but effective vocals. The pop group’s debut EP is out May 20. Irish artist EFÉ  has returned with the dazzling tune KIWI. Taken from the artist’s EP VITAMIN-C, which is out in June, KIWI features lush vocals and ethereal soundscapes. You can catch EFÉ live when she plays the Great Escape Festival in May. Next up, Bloc Party are back with glistening guitars on new single  If We Get Caught. It’s another preview of their hotly anticipated sixth studio album Alpha Games which drops this coming Tuesday. Finally, She Cries Blues is the new single from Mexican Dogs, a new band based in Liverpool. It’s a slick track with gritty guitar.
