1883 On Rotation: Paramore, Meet Me @ The Altar, Arctic Monkeys

The latest in new music from Paramore, Meet Me @ The Altar, Mazey Haze, Arctic Monkeys & more on this week’s 1883 playlist.

On rotation this week is the effortlessly cool comeback single from the world-dominating band Paramore. This Is Why is the group’s first single in over five years and it’s taken from their hotly anticipated sixth studio album of the same name. Expect 2023 to be a busy year for Hayley, Taylor & Zac once their album drops on February 10th. American trio Meet Me @ The Altar have just dropped the brand new single Say It (To My Face). It’s an exhilarating pop-punk tune. You can catch them on tour in the US right now with MUNA. Indie-rocker Mazey Haze has just unveiled an understated bop with new single, The Weight Of The Weekend. Inspired by the likes of french new wave cinema, Italian film scores and 60s psych-rock, Haze has distilled a truly heavenly sound with her art. You can catch her supporting Feng Suave at Lafayette in London on November 2nd. Pop superstar in the making GAYLE is releasing her brand EP a study of the human experience volume two next Friday. Elsewhere on the playlist, talented artist Kwaku Asante has released his this third single of the year with the soulful effort, Wait For Me (Promise). Taken from his forthcoming EP Wanderlust which lands on November 3rd, it’s a vulnerable tune with sublime vocals and production. Rising songwriter and producer Maggie has just unveiled her latest musical effort, Circles. The track is full of ambient textures, lush vocals and thematically it’s based on the feeling of being totally captivated by someone. Finally, one of the UK’s biggest bands, Arctic Monkeys, have released a new single. Body Paint is a cinematic masterpiece far removed from some of their earlier releases. Showing off their mature, sophisticated sound and showcasing Alex Turners’ crooning vocals, the track is a beautiful insight into their upcoming seventh studio album, The Car, arriving on October 21st.
